Students in Salem State’s ART 236 class share their research on everyday objects in the Danvers Historical Society collection and what they reveal about local history and American society, past and present. This sweeping musical portrait of early-twentieth-century America tells the stories of three families in pursuit of the American Dream.  Together, they confront history’s timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair, and what it means to live in America.
