In your words… Tell us about your organization, business, initiative.
I run a one man event production agency. I have experience working with consumer activations but also work heavily in the corporate space. So examples of events – non profit fundraisers, corporate sales meetings, CEO presentations, fashion shows, product launches etc.
I LIKE TO BREAK UP MY BUSINESS INTO THREE MAIN SEGMENTS.
1. Event production – inclusive of site selection, scenic/AV/Lighting design, contract negotiation, budget management, show producing, show calling, show directing
2. Content Creation – I create a lot of video content for my clients. Primarily highlight/recap videos of events or videos that are used during presentations. I also work w/ clients on building their presentation materials, ppt etc.
3. Speaker Coaching – I work with all my clients on helping to coach their presenters on skills to help them be efficient both from managing their content and tricks of the trade to smoothly and confidently present.
Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do? Share your passions for your business, initiative, organization.
At my foundation I am a people person and am in the business I am in because I LOVE building relationships and working with others. Having clients trust me with their brand and the success of their events is something I take very seriously and am grateful for. I have been lucky professionally to match my passion for working with people with my passion for live event production. I love having all the pressure on me (weird I know) but there is nothing like the feeling of being at the wheel of a live event and staying focused to make sure everything gets executed as it was intended.
What role do you think your business plays in supporting a more creative community?
I think I help contribute to keeping my industry and community creative by always pushing the limits with my events. From new designs, to integration of new technology, to putting events in venues that are non-traditional, I thrive on being able to always re-invent my event designs.
What was the last book you read that made an impact on you?
I am currently reading The Stand, by Stephen King. I have seen and LOVE the made for TV movie from the 90’s, but reading the story is such a different experience. I have continually walked away from reading it saying, man I need to step my game up. This is because it is amazing how much unique and captivating content Stephen King has come up with. I always like to follow and look at pioneers in their respective industries and use it as motivation 🙂
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you our your business?
I have only been a company for 19 months, but have been lucky enough to produce events on 4/7 continents (NA, SA, Eur, AS)
