Sensitive Content Warning
Artist James Montford addresses questions of social justice and injustice in this exhibition. His work includes disturbing language and images drawn from racist stereotypes that have a long history in American society. The exhibition is meant to spark a dialogue with gallery visitors about histories and legacies of oppression. The powerful work on view engages with an artistic tradition in which formal and conceptual elements serve not only aesthetic ends, but prompt us to think critically about our world.
