In your words… Tell us about your organization, business, initiative.

Helios Floral began as a boutique wedding floral design studio, and has evolved into so much more over the last few years.

We have always put a huge emphasis on sustainability, which can be pretty tough in the floral industry! We do not use design products which harm our environment such as floral foam, and we always buy what we can from our amazing local farms and wholesalers. By letting the seasons drive our designs, we don’t buy as many flowers that have travelled hundreds or thousands of miles to get to us.

Through Helios I am also very excited to now be able to showcase and distribute the work of some of my favorite artists and makers and play a part in bringing their work into my customers homes. I fully believe that art invigorates spaces, whether it resides in a frame on the wall or is your favorite mug that you reach for every morning.

The overarching mission at Helios is to create a space that is unique, welcoming, and beautiful for our community!

Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do? Share your passions for your business, initiative, organization.

My goal for Helios is that it will be a space where people can access work from talented new artists, thoughtfully designed flowers, and hopefully one day, teach workshops on floral design and gardening.

Creative communities create space for growth; They embrace new ideas, inspire the members of those communities, and can build off of collective efforts and successes!

What was the last book you read that made an impact on you?

The last book I read was “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens. I read it twice!

What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you our your business?

Helios and I were both born in Denver, CO and moved to Salem in October of 2018.
