In your words… Tell us about your organization, business, initiative.
Landscape gardening with a focus on creating beautiful, ecologically valuable environments.
Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do? Share your passions for your business, initiative, organization.
I provide plant- and land-care services to residential and commercial clients looking to improve the aesthetics of their property while supporting pollinators and other wildlife.
I emphasize the use of native plants, and promote practices that restore and sustain the landscape and our native ecosystem. I also offer decorative services for those looking to attract customers with beautiful containers / seasonal displays.
What role do you think your business plays in supporting a more creative community? OR your community in general.
My art is in creating sanctuaries and public installations; my canvas is everything from a street corner to a window box to a suburban yard, and my medium is alive.
I hope to inspire people with a vision of engaging with Nature through landscapes and planting choices, one Eden at a time, and especially would like to see public areas be more creative with their use of plantings and planning. Creativity solves problems, inspires, makes life richer and more interesting.
I plan to use the creative community for services such as printing and signage, and to leverage the power of the group to find ways to collaborate on events that showcase all that we have to offer.
What was the last thing you watched or book you read that made an impact on you?
I’m currently reading Isabel Wilkerson’s “Caste,” and wish everyone would read it.
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you our your business?
I was a theater critic in Chicago!
