The Salem Athenaeum is an independent library with circulating and historical research collections. The Athenaeum serves as a gathering place for readers and writers and the curious to pursue knowledge and to share ideas and cultural experiences.

I’m a librarian and archivist and am dedicated to uniting people with information and knowledge that enriches their lives and helps them pursue their passions.
What role do you think your business plays in supporting a more creative community? OR your community in general. (Bonus! Why do you think a more creative community is important?)
The Salem Athenaeum supports a vibrant and expanding community of writers, readers, and lifelong learners. We offer programs, groups, and opportunities for people to explore their interests, and develop existing or learn new skills.

What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you our your business?
The Salem Athenaeum is open to the public. Everyone is welcome to attend programs, view exhibits, work or study or just read in the reading room and anyone may become a member.
