Jean Marie Procious – Salem Athenaeum

In your words… Tell us about your organization, business, initiative.

The Salem Athenaeum is an independent library with circulating and historical research collections. The Athenaeum serves as a gathering place for readers and writers and the curious to pursue knowledge and to share ideas and cultural experiences.

Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do? Share your passions for your business, initiative, organization.

I’m a librarian and archivist and am dedicated to uniting people with information and knowledge that enriches their lives and helps them pursue their passions.

What role do you think your business plays in supporting a more creative community? OR your community in general. (Bonus! Why do you think a more creative community is important?)

The Salem Athenaeum supports a vibrant and expanding community of writers, readers, and lifelong learners. We offer programs, groups, and opportunities for people to explore their interests, and develop existing or learn new skills.

What was the last book you read that made an impact on you?

Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid
