Salem Film Fest Announces Frequent Streamer Pass and Winter Film Line Up

From Salem Film Fest.

This holiday season, we’re highlighting local businesses as part of our #StayLocal2020 campaign. Scroll to the bottom for more information.

Scroll to the bottom for what’s available for streaming this weekend. Or click here to access Salem Film Fest’s Virtual Tip Jar.

Instead of currently selling All Access Passes with various stipulations, we are instead making available our popular SFF Frequent Streamer 10-Ticket Pass, and introducing a 5-Ticket Pack. Both of these are discounted bulk buys you’ll be able to redeem for any film in our 2021 virtual lineup. Buy now and you can take advantage of additional holiday discounting!

A regular priced ticket will cost $10 and a regular 10-Pack $90, but we are currently dropping the 10-Pack price to $80. Our new $45 5-Pack is currently discounted to just $40. Because we are the type of people who keep up our decorations 3 weeks after the holidays, both these offers will be available all the way through January 15, 2021.

These passes are not returnable but they are completely transferable. They are perfect gifts for family, friends, bosses, co-workers and great stocking-stuffers, depending on how big your feet are. So cross some names off your holiday list with a contact free gift you don’t need to leave your house to purchase. Buy local and help kick start our funding for SFF 2021.

What’s Streaming Soon from Salem Film Fest

Image from “KOSHIEN: JAPAN’S FIELD OF DREAMS”

Our November streaming offering of Ema Ryan Yamazaki’s KOSHIEN: JAPAN’S FIELD OF DREAMS continues through this Thursday, December 3. It’s a fascinating and elegant look at America’s Favorite Pastime, reinterpreted on the competitive diamond of a Japanese high school tournament.

Koshien is an event so popular that director Ryan describes it as a combination of March Madness and the Super Bowl. Salem Film Fest Program Director Jeff Schmidt and Sponsorship Director Sadry Assouad caught up with Ema Ryan in Japan last week and you can view that chat for free by clicking here. The film is available for a $10 rental. SFF will share rental profits with the filmmakers.

Beginning this Friday, Dec 4 we’ll be offering another film that was originally scheduled to be part of our 2020 pre-postponement lineup. Part music bio, part mystery, THE CHANGIN’ TIMES OF IKE WHITE uncovers the story of a complex, mysterious and talented musician who recorded a classic soul & funk album while serving a life sentence for murder.

Stevie Wonder helped lobby for Ike White’s early release, and years later director Daniel Vernon tries to track down White in a film full of jaw-dropping twists and turns that will keep you glued to the screen. I highly recommend this one but please note that it is for mature audiences (language, drug use and nudity). The film will remain available through Friday, Dec 18. As with all the films in our streaming series, we are sharing profits with our filmmakers.
